The nurture and development of language and literacy is at the heart of everything we do at Gordonbrock School. We want all our children, regardless of their specific needs or starting points, to leave our school as confident and skilled readers who learn from what they read; creative and imaginative writers who can structure arguments well and craft engaging narratives; expert listeners and adept communicators who can engage in rich discussions. We are passionate about ensuring that children’s literacy development crosses over into learning in all subjects: using Kagan strategies to facilitate collaborative learning across the curriculum.
