Religious Education (RE)

At Gordonbrock, our community is a vibrant tapestry woven from diverse cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. Families, staff, and pupils are connected to various parts of the world and represent a wide range of faiths, which enriches the fabric of our school. We are dedicated to embracing and celebrating this diversity, ensuring that every individual feels valued, respected, and included. Our school environment is one where differences are not only acknowledged but cherished, fostering a sense of belonging for all. By creating an atmosphere of openness and acceptance, we encourage our pupils to develop a global perspective and a deep appreciation for the rich cultural mosaic that surrounds them.

Religious Education (RE) plays a crucial role in our commitment to diversity and inclusion. At Gordonbrock, we see RE as a powerful tool for promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth of our pupils. It provides a unique opportunity for students to learn about different religions and belief systems, as well as to learn from them. Through RE, pupils explore a wide range of perspectives, fostering understanding, empathy, and respect for others. This holistic approach to education helps our students develop into well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the complexities of adult life. By engaging with RE, pupils not only gain knowledge but also cultivate the values and skills necessary to navigate an increasingly interconnected world, contributing positively to both their local communities and the broader global society.

Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of RE. Those who choose to withdraw their child are required to state this in writing annually to the Head of School. For more information, please read our Religious Education Policy.
