Thank you for your support with the children’s home learning so far, it really makes a difference!
Literacy: Children will be given literacy homework each week, this will be set on a Friday and is due in on the following Wednesday.
Maths: Maths homework is assigned via the Mathletics system. The homework will be set on a Friday and is due on the following Wednesday.
Reading: All children should read each evening. Whatever your child’s level of ability, please commit to reading with or hearing him / her read at least once a week.
A record of your child's reading should be kept in their reading journals. We ask that three entries a week are made in their reading records, at least one by an adult. Reading journals should be bought into school everyday.
Even if your child is a fluent reader, please read with him/her as often as possible and discuss what he/she is reading. This will help to develop comprehension and reasoning skills as well as enjoyment. Please click here for a list of question to aid you when reading with your child.
Topic Work: Sometimes the children will be asked to attempt tasks linked to science / history / geography being studied in class. These may be quick tasks that can be done overnight or longer pieces to be completed over a school holiday.
