Connecting to the Wireless

Once the Notebook has been switched on and loaded, press FN (bottom left hand corner of the keyboard) and F11 at the same time.

Once this has been done, at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, on the task bar you will see a little icon of a computer with three waves moving away from it with a red cross through it.  Double click on this icon.

At the new window that appears, on the left hand pane, you will see Refresh Network List.  Click on this and wait until it has completed refreshing.  After it has finished refreshing, a list of available wireless networks will be in view. Select your network (Gordonbrock for school) and double click.

Once you have double clicked on your wireless network, if your machine has a password a screen will appear asking you to enter the password.  (School Wireless Key - 1234567890).  Once this has done you should be connected to your wireless.

Proxy Settings

Once in Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings.  Once you have clicked on LAN Settings, at the bottom of the screen will be your proxy settings, when you are at school it should be ticked and when at home it should be unticked.  If the lines are blank for the proxy settings, here are the details: proxy1.equinoxsolutions.com and in the port field type 80.  Click OK and then OK again,  refresh the page by clicking the green icon at the top (or by pressing F5).

A polite reminder – the School office and class teachers are not responsible for the up keep of the laptops and we would be much obliged if you could fill in the attached form to pass on any information.  Please click here to download the form.
